Thanks to a member called Mark, Holly Hedge Lane pit has now been completely strimmed and Hedges cut back so now the whole pit is accessible. If we all do a bit then our fishing is much improved and the two waters which have a lot of history look cared for.
The shallow pit at Hatton lane has a lot of weed that needs removing. All that you need to have a go at removing the weed is a rake and a rope. There is a throw drag at the pits near the boat but it is easy to improvise a drag for yourself.
Ideally the shallow pit needs deepening at the road side. Does anyone know someone who could dredge it out cheaply for us? At the moment it is quite shallow but that means with waders on a lot of weed could be removed.PLEASE BE CAREFUL!
So by my reckoning at least a dozen members have contributed to improving the fishing.
If you are wondering what you can do. First Hatton Lane needs a strim and at Holly Hedge lane some branches which remain on the floor need putting to one side. Both jobs about one hour max for each.
Slowly we are getting there if we all contribute a little bit of time. If you do something please let me know.
Upwards and Onwards, John Barton.
