Wilderspool Anglers currently control the fishing on two waters, details of which are provided below.

POOL AT HOLLY HEDGE FARM

This is a mature farm pool with a varied stock, including carp, ghost carp, crucian carp, tench, bream, roach, perch and gudgeon.

Please note that overhead power cables run above the bank alongside the road. These can be seen on the picture below.

Fishing below these high voltage cables with a pole or long rod can be potentially fatal. Therefore only conventional rod and line fishing is available from this bank.

Anglers may fish with a pole elsewhere on the water, which is strictly members only, via a locked gate on the roadside.

Directions from Warrington via A56 (Chester Road)

Follow the A56 until just after the “Toast Rack” bridge over the Bridgewater Canal. Turn right onto Holly Hedge Lane. The pool is through a field gate on the left, just after Holly Hedge Farm entrance (on the right). You will need the code for the combination lock to gain access, where there is parking for 2 cars. If there is no room, please park alongside the hedge, and NOT opposite the farm access.

POOL ON HATTON LANE

This is another mature farm pool with a varied stock, including carp, crucian carp, tench, bream, roach, rudd, perch and gudgeon. A wooden walkway separates the two halves of the pool.

Strictly members only, via a locked gate on the roadside.

Directions from Warrington via A49 (London Road)

Follow the A49 until you reach the traffic lights (Cat & Lion pub on right) at Stretton, before you get to the M56. Turn right into Hatton Lane, and follow the road for just over half a mile, when you will see the pool on your right, alongside the road. You will need the code for the combination lock to gain access. Please park on the grass verge, on the opposite side of the road to the pool itself.
