| 2023 WORK PARTY DATES |
2023 Work Parties are about to commence – See the Work Parties Forum for details, including proposed dates.
Work Parties may involve some or all of the following :-
- Moderate or heavy manual lifting
- 6 hours or more in duration
- Working in an external environment – therefore being exposed to wind, rain, low or high atmospheric pressure, dusts, pollen, etc.
- A degree of walking, often over rough terrain
- Working next to deep water
Members who wish to attend the Working Party should provide their own :-
- Sturdy boots – steel toecap if available
- Gloves – heavy duty
- Waterproof clothing
- Warm clothing – especially in winter
- Mobile phone
- Any practical equipment, i.e. spades, hammers, etc. Such tools must be in safe working order
If any member has an underlying medical condition which may be aggravated by undertaking activities or being exposed to environments identified above, you should arrange to see your GP before considering attending a Working Party.
Your GP should establish what your capabilities are, what work activities you can undertake safely, and also clarify what activities might have a negative impact upon your condition.
Examples of medical problems which may be aggravated by work activities include :-
- Cardiac/vascular condition aggravated by heavy lifting
- Respiratory condition aggravated by physical activity
- Skin condition aggravated by water, wood, dust, oils, etc.
- Musculo-skeletal condition aggravated by physical activity, damp conditions, etc.
Attendance at club Work Parties is entirely voluntary and, as with fishing at the club’s waters, members attending do so entirely at their own risk.
| IF POSSIBLE, PLEASE BRING SPADES, ROPES, DRAGS, SAWS, CUTTERS, SLEDGEHAMMERS, ETC. |
Many thanks for your assistance – The Club Committee
