A big Hello to all members of Wilderspool AC.

Lots of interesting ideas were floated at our first Committee Meeting, so I’ll give you a brief idea of what we would like to do this year :-

• There will be two initial work parties at Hatton Lane. These are on Saturday 25th March at 1pm and on Saturday 20th May at 1pm. Please come along if you can do so.
• In the meanwhile if you want to work independently that would be excellent, but please be careful as the club cannot accept responsibility for any mishaps.
• Overhead tree branches on the pegs can be lopped and in particular any weed other than the rushes is worth taking out especially near in on the pegs.
• The area either side of the bridge needs sorting re the weed but please be careful on the decking as it is slippery.
• One of the first jobs will be to put new chicken wire on the bridge.
• There are two small drags on the west side of the shallow pit, but please leave them there if you may have used them. Basically a hand rake is just fine for removing near in weed growth.
• The Summer months are crucial regards removing weed.
• If you were to do just one peg , many hands make light work.
• We intend to improve the pegs initially at Hatton Lane and then move onto the Holly Hedge pit.
• PLEASE – Does any one have access to a trailer ? We need one to transport a good quantity of flags which have been promised. If this is possible please contact Ian Pollitt via this website.
• Any concrete flags or scaffolding poles which you might have spare can always be dropped of neatly inside the the confines of Hatton Lane.
• Plans are in place to improve the signage at the club waters in order to attract and grow the membership. To this end please encourage your friends to join the club.
• To further publicise the club a Facebook page is being set up and should be up and running very soon.
