Hello everyone and some info about our two pits.
First of all thank you to John Leslie for putting up the new signage on the pits. Also I notice that someone has cut some of the grass at Hatton Lane.thank you.
George Barber and myself have reconstructed peg 7 on Hatton Lane using the rubble supplied by Tom and Andy Sherrat as backfill.
Ian Pollitt has dropped of a load of slabs for improving the pegs and I now have possession of the club strimmer.
We need a member to step up and do the strimming at the pits. I have the fuel and two stroke to hand, ready.
A lot of members love Holly hedge and it needs a member/ members to take charge there of strimming and weed control. Once again I have chemicals and equipment to do the job but it needs other people to help as the job load needs to be shared out.
Basically if things get out of control there the members cannot complain if they don’t contribute.
The weed at Hatton lane is now surfacing and a lot needs to be dragged out. I have left an extending rake near the ladders on the shallow pit so there is nothing to stop people going there and doing weed removal by themselves. If we take out a lot of weed out especially near the bridge the water will colour up more and the fishing will be better.
So please get in contact and just spend a couple of hours improving our waters. Cheers, John B.
